Why people choose this generator

Ultralight at 35 Pounds: The MXR2400GT is one of the lightest 2400-watt generators available. It loads into a truck bed with one hand, stows in an RV compartment without a struggle, and travels to a campsite without wearing you out before you get there.
Bluetooth® App Monitoring: Connect your phone via the Maxpeedingrods app to monitor voltage, frequency, real-time load, remaining fuel, and runtime without walking out to the generator. Toggle ECO mode on or off remotely to adjust fuel consumption on the fly.
Safe for Sensitive Electronics: Pure sine wave output with less than 3% THD delivers the clean power laptops, CPAP machines, Starlink routers, and TVs require — without risking damage to sensitive circuits.
Quiet Inverter Operation: Inverter technology adjusts engine speed to match the load, keeping noise at 58 dB in ECO mode — comparable to a normal conversation — and fuel consumption low compared to conventional open-frame generators.

Good to know before you buy

What can a 2400 watt inverter generator run

A 1800 running watt inverter generator like the MXR2400GT is well-suited for essential backup use — refrigerator, lights, router, phone and laptop chargers, a TV, and similar household electronics. In RV use, it works for sensitive loads and selective appliances, though it is not sized to run a 13,500 BTU air conditioner on its own.

Not sure if it fits your RV, backup plan, or specific appliances? Call 314-833-8000 and we'll walk through your setup before you buy.
What the Bluetooth® app actually does

The MXR2400GT uses the Maxpeedingrods Bluetooth® app (available on iOS and Android) for remote data monitoring and ECO mode control. Once paired, the app displays voltage, frequency, real-time load power, remaining fuel level, single-session runtime, and accumulated runtime. You can also switch ECO mode on or off from your phone. Note that the app requires an internet or Wi-Fi connection to function. The Bluetooth connection on this model is for monitoring and ECO control — it does not provide wireless remote start capability.

What 58 dB actually sounds like

58 dB at 23 feet in ECO mode is roughly equivalent to a normal conversation or a running dishwasher. It is considerably quieter than a conventional open-frame generator, which typically operates at 70–80 dB. In practice, you can hold a conversation next to the MXR2400GT without raising your voice. Most campgrounds and RV parks that allow generators will have no issue with this noise level. If noise is your top priority, note that the Honda EU2200i runs as low as 48 dB at quarter load — measurably quieter, at a significantly higher price.

Runtime explained

Runtime varies significantly based on the load you are running. The MXR2400GT has a 0.53-gallon fuel tank. Running in ECO mode at lighter loads will extend runtime considerably compared to running at full power. For exact runtime figures at specific load percentages, refer to the owner’s manual included with your unit.

Parallel capability means two MXR2400GT units can be connected together using a parallel kit (sold separately) for approximately double the output — useful if you need more power without buying a larger single unit.

What the MXR2400GT can run

1800 running watts / 2400 peak watts. Startup watts draw higher current for 1–2 seconds when a motor starts. Plan around running watts for sustained use.

Let’s talk about MXR +
The MXR Story

MXR is produced by Maxpeedingrods, an engineering company founded in 2006 that builds performance and power equipment for real-world use. Their inverter generators are designed for buyers who want modern features — Bluetooth® monitoring, CO protection, pure sine wave output — without paying a premium for a legacy brand name.

The MXR2400GT is purpose-built around one mission: maximum power in minimum weight. At 35 pounds, it is one of the lightest 2400-watt inverter generators available. The suitcase-style design and integrated carry handle mean one person can move it anywhere without help — from a truck bed to a campsite to an RV storage compartment.

Parallel capability means two MXR2400GT units can be linked together for approximately 3,240 watts of combined output — useful for buyers who want a scalable setup without buying a larger, heavier single unit.

MXR generators carry a 2-year manufacturer warranty plus lifetime technical support. Durvy Supply provides direct support from Union, Missouri. Call or email us any time before or after your purchase.

Common questions about the MXR2400GT

General & setup questions
Can I just call instead of reading the FAQs?

Yes, anytime. Call or text 314-833-8000 or email sales@durvy.com. We provide direct support from our Union, MO location.

What’s in the box?

1× Generator, 1× Spark Plug Socket Wrench, 1× Oil Funnel, 1× RV30 Plug, 1× Generator Parallel Cables, 1× Screwdriver, 1× Generator Dust Cover, 1× Owner Manual.

Does this generator ship with oil?

No. The MXR2400GT ships without engine oil. Add SAE 10W-30 oil (0.35 qt) before attempting to start it. Starting the generator without oil will cause serious engine damage.

What type of oil and gas does it use?

Oil: SAE 10W-30 (0.35 qt capacity). Gas: Gasoline, max 10% ethanol. Do not use E85 or E15.

How does the Bluetooth® app work?

Download the Maxpeedingrods app (iOS or Android), enable Bluetooth on your phone, and follow the pairing instructions in the owner’s manual. Note: the app requires an internet or Wi-Fi connection to function. Once paired, monitor voltage, frequency, real-time load, remaining fuel, and runtime, and toggle ECO mode on or off. The app does not provide remote start — it is a monitoring tool.

What should I check before leaving for a trip?

Check oil (0.35 qt SAE 10W-30) and fuel levels, start the generator and confirm the display is reading correctly, and pack a spare quart of SAE 10W-30 oil and a backup A5RTC spark plug.

RV & camping questions
Can the MXR2400GT run an RV air conditioner?

No. A 13,500 BTU RV air conditioner typically draws around 1,500 running watts with a 3,000-watt startup surge. The MXR2400GT’s 2,400 peak watts is not sufficient for that startup surge. For RV AC capability, consider the MXR3500S (3,500W peak) or the MXR4000GT (4,000W peak).

Will it work for camping where noise rules apply?

At 58 dB in ECO mode, the MXR2400GT is a genuine inverter generator — meaningfully quieter than conventional open-frame generators. Most campgrounds and RV parks that allow generators will accommodate this noise level. Check the specific rules at your destination before you go.

Why is my RV surge protector showing an open ground fault?

Portable generators have a floating neutral. Many RV EMS and surge protector systems require a bonded neutral. Use a neutral-ground bonding plug in one of the 20A outlets to resolve this.

Can I connect two MXR2400GT generators together?

Yes. Use a Maxpeedingrods parallel kit (sold separately) to link two units. Combined output is approximately 3,240 watts, giving you significantly more headroom for RV setups or home backup needs.

Should I leave ECO mode on when starting heavy loads?

No. Turn ECO mode off before starting heavy loads so the engine runs at full RPM for the startup surge. You can turn it back on once the load is running.

Home backup planning
Is 1800 running watts enough for home backup?

For essential backup use, yes. A refrigerator, freezer, lights, router, and phone chargers typically draw well under 1,800 running watts combined. The MXR2400GT handles that load with room to spare. It is not sized for well pumps, sump pumps, or window AC units — those require the MXR3500S or larger.

Does this generator work with a Starlink dish?

Yes. Starlink draws approximately 50–75 running watts. The MXR2400GT’s pure sine wave output is well-suited for Starlink and other sensitive electronics.

How does the MXR2400GT compare to the Honda EU2200i?

Both produce 1,800W running. The MXR2400GT weighs 35 lb vs. 47 lb for the Honda and costs significantly less (~$450 vs. ~$1,289). The Honda EU2200i runs quieter at low load (48 dB vs. 58 dB) and carries a 3-year warranty vs. the MXR’s 2-year warranty. Call us at 314-833-8000 if you want to talk through it.

Power output & parallel questions
What does “peak watts” vs. “running watts” actually mean?

Running watts (1,800W) is the continuous output — what the generator can sustain hour after hour. Peak watts (2,400W) is the surge capacity available for 1–2 seconds when a motor-driven appliance starts. Plan your load based on running watts, and make sure any motor-driven appliances have a startup surge that falls within the 2,400W peak.

How does the parallel feature work?

A Maxpeedingrods parallel kit (sold separately) connects two MXR2400GT generators. Combined output is approximately 3,240 watts running. This is a cost-effective way to scale power without buying a larger, heavier single unit — and you get the flexibility of using one generator for lighter loads.

Will the generator maintain voltage for sensitive electronics?

Yes. The inverter module produces pure sine wave output with less than 3% THD — the same quality of power you get from a household outlet. Laptops, CPAP machines, Starlink routers, cameras, and similar electronics can be connected directly without risk of damage from power quality issues.

Maintenance & storage
What is the recommended maintenance schedule?

Check engine oil (SAE 10W-30, 0.35 qt capacity) before each use. For specific oil change intervals and the full maintenance schedule, refer to the owner’s manual included with your unit.

What spark plug does it use?

The MXR2400GT uses an A5RTC spark plug. Keep a spare on hand before any extended trip.

How do I prep it for storage?

For short storage (under 30 days): add fuel stabilizer to the tank. For longer storage: drain the tank and carburetor completely by turning the fuel switch OFF while the engine is running and allowing it to use remaining fuel before shutting down.

Why does the engine struggle to start after sitting?

Stale gasoline is the most common cause. Gasoline can varnish in 30–60 days without a stabilizer, clogging the carburetor. Drain the tank, add fresh gasoline, and try again.

Is this generator National Park and campground legal?

It is equipped with a spark arrestor and operates as an inverter generator. Check specific campground or park rules before use, as noise and equipment requirements vary by location.
